Symphony of Spring

O dearest daffodil, so pretty and so free
How many songs and how many poems have been written about thee?
Well, I want to write one too to tell you how I feel
Every time I see your blooms, I'm filled with joy and zeal!
For now I really truly know that spring time has arrived
You are my signature of spring, you make me feel alive!
You stand just like a trumpet strong, sturdy, brave and gold
Announcing 'Springtime has arrived!' your message strong and bold:

"I am the herald of the Spring you've all been waiting for
I come from the kingdom of the sun, hear my golden roar!
I can stand up to the rain and even April snow
I'm sturdy even as the winds do toss me to and fro!"

And I stood there looking down, in the warm sunshine
I told the yellow flower 'you are a friend of mine!'
I love you daffodil so bright, you bring such joy and cheer
I wait so patiently for you through the turning of the year.
Thank you for your faithfulness and your symphony of song
I too will offer up my voice and with you sing along
Singing songs of gratitude for the return of the Sun
And offering up a simple prayer...joy to everyone!"
